How do I begin searching for a carer?

To seek out a carer, you can post a job on the app or search through our jobs board. The filter option enables you to search for carers based on their distance from you, star ratings, qualification and clearances. On their profiles, carers will also display their hourly rate.

In addition to this, you also have the option to send your job posting to the minders shortlisted in your favorites list.

If you require urgent or last minute care, the available now filter will show you a list of carers available for immediate bookings.

Are there any costs when I make a booking on the app?

Yes, there is a flat rate fee of $8.50 each time you make a booking. However, the

SECURITY

What type of screening does Nannies Now do on the babysitters and nannies on the database?

Nannies Now requests that all carers with Working with Children Checks upload their clearances to their profiles at time of registration. All carers also have ID, SMS and social verification’s conducted.

As we do not verify any other documents including First aid certificates and police checks, we highly recommend parents request these documents for that extra peace of mind.

We also depend on parents to raise any concerns they have about a carer as soon as they can.

While this has never occurred before, should we receive a red flag on a
carer, we will commence investigation immediately and attempt to resolve the
situation as soon as possible.

Are my details and personal information kept confidential?

Yes, all your details and personal information are keep confidential and are covered under our Privacy Policy.

How can I leave feedback?

Once the booking is completed, you will be prompted to leave a rating and a review for the carer. While the review is optional, we strongly encourage you to leave one as it will support the decision-making for other parents.

GETTING A SUITABLE CARER

Can I claim child care benefit by using this service?

The onus is on the carers to register themselves with the Department of Human
Services (?). You will be able to identify these carers as indicated on their profiles.

What is the difference between a nanny and a baby sitter?

A nanny provides childcare for a living. They usually possess related qualifications and experience.

A baby sitter is someone who usually has a main job and provides
childcare on a casual or part-time basis.

They may not possess qualification, but they enjoy caring for children.

How can I prepare the minder to care for my child?

Ensure you provide the carer with important details such as emergency contact
numbers, notes about your child’s routine, house rules that the child has to obey and any required medication and doses.

We encourage you to let your child meet with the carer before you have to leave your home, or engage the carer for a couple of hours before the day you need them for, to observe how your child interacts with them.

How will I make payment or adjustments to the booking?

For security purposes, all payment is made via credit card and we discourage any cash transactions for trace-ability purposes. You are required to provide credit card details prior to making a booking.

You will be prompted to make payment via the app upon job completion. The carers will be able to adjust the hours as necessary and you will be notified of any changes made to your booking.

If you haven’t manually approved the finalisation of the job within 24 hours, the funds will be automatically credited from your account to ensure the carers are paid on time. If you see a discrepancy, please contact us via email as soon as possible, as payments made are non-refundable.

Can I book a carer for a friend?

For security purposes, you are only permitted to book a carer for yourself. The carer is required to report to the company if there is a discrepancy with the booking.

We do have gift cards available for you to purchase and forward to a friend who can then register for their profile and seek out a carer (or just use the share button to directly send our app to their messages).
